It might run,but it's a ticking time-bomb.
if it siezed up and shut off, then pulled over easy and started after it was cool pull the jug off and clean the rings out of the walls of the cylinder and check the bore and put new rings back in. I have done the same thing before, the lack of oil on the rings will cause them to weld thier self to the cyl. walls and when cool will often start again but the rings are shot and usally are welded in the jug. which is what causes the motor to lock up.

You are screwed! Get ready for a rebuild................

Even if it seemed to run fine............
Question .....How many miles would you ride out alone with this on your mind?

The cylinder walls are scarred and prob most of the bearings damaged..............if it runs long get ready for a knock..........

You can try running it but it may damage some of the parts beyond using.........$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
it's a bayou 250....it's a tank.ride it til it blows up and get another one!!!....just joking.do what cowboy said.:)
I am thinking flush it out, fill it with 50/50 gear oil/10-40 and trade up.....
those bikes are tuff as nails.probably didn't even hurt it.depends on how long you rode it before you noticed there was no oil in it.

yep...it's done.REBUILD.shouldn't cost you too much on that little bike.
I just rebuilt the top end of my Bayou 300. Used a Namura piston kit off E-Bay, around $60.00. Slick looking thing check em out Untitled Document. Gasket set was around $30.00. Machine shop was $50.00. Clymer book another $30.00. Easy job and you will save a good bit of money doing it yourself.

It's an air cooled engine with lots of clearance, and very tough as others have said.
Replace the oil, start it and drive it. If it smokes or is down on power, rebuild it. If not, then drive it.
It will probabaly last forever.
Put some oil in it and drove it around for about 3-4hrs yesterday. Does not seam to be smoking anymore than it was before.
