It start with the choke on but will not idle at all even after it is warmed up with out the choke on. I can ride it around fine with the choke on but if I turn the choke of and let of the gas it will stall. any ideas?
Clean the carb good first, this never hurts to do once in a while. Make sure you can see through each jet.
Make sure it's not something stupid like the air screw being turned in all the way or the idle adjustment knob being set wrong.
If it hasn't been serviced in a while the valves are probably tight as well, but the choke should have no effect on them, so I don't think they are necessarily the problem here, just another thing to stay on top of.
Its fuel related. Most likely your pilot jet is clogged amongst other things. Get a carb kit and follow the service manual on rebuilding the carb. We have the K&L carb kits in stock if you need one. They come with more parts verses the moose, shindy and other kits but are a few bucks more. Well worth it.
