Battery wasn't being charged. the regulator is new OEM as of last year, i tested it, its good, at the plugs at the stator on the engine, the voltage varies, it will hang around 30 volts for a few seconds, then drop to 24 volts, then sometimes down to 8 or 10 volts for a few seconds, then back up to 30 volts, then repeats... i tested the resistance across both plugs, the manual calls for .2 to .4 ohms, my meter settled at .7 ohms.
One thing i want to try is making a new "harness" since those two stator wires just go straight to the rectifier, get some 14 or 16 gauge wire and go from the Stator plugs to the regulator to rule out any in between issues.
