Nikasil is just a coating, you can nikasil a sleeve.

Nikasil is only good for cylinders if you use a higher grade gasoline. Cheap gasolines cause the nikasil to break down.

Nikasil break down from cheap gas? What? I've seen motors wear out over two sets of pistons because of dirt yet the nikasil show almost no wear what so ever... Cylinders that you had to beat off because there was so much mud they wouldn't slide... When it comes to wear resistant I'm a believer in nikasil experience.

Gasolines high in sulfur. Cheap was the wrong word. I should have said, lower quality gasoline.

This will answer ALL your nikasil questions.

Goatman, I never said nikasil was bad. Sulfur breaks down nikasil. That is a proven fact. For anything that you would be interested in enigma nikasil would be perfectly fine. Your question was nikasil or sleeves, and the answer is nikasil the sleeves.

Not sure how much that process costs though.
