For those of you who have painted your quads plastic did you do or use anything special?

How did you prep the surface (sand / scuff), did you use a paint inhibitor / flex agent, etc. Did you use a heat lamp or some other bake / cure method?

If you just used the spray and pray method how long did it hold up?

I did a set of plastic fenders years ago. Wet sand it with fine emory paper (400-600 grit), in a random orbital pattern. Use a "plastic primer", aka flex primer, then spray like you would anything else. I would stay away from any automotive paint, as it hardens and will crack.

Results will vary depending on user, methods, and paints, but it worked good for the application I did.
