parking break block off?

does anyone know if the parking break block off is worth it. my bike is stock right now all i plan on doing is a 13t front sprocket for now till my wife learns how to control the clutch. i thought if the block off will free up a little power i might add it to, its only $12 but if it wont make a noticable diff theres no point
