I just installed epi maroon spring in primary clutch
do i need to install a different spring in my secondary
will a secondary spring give me more top end speed.

The maroon in the primary gave me lots more take off power
this made my prairie pull the front tires off the ground

just want to know if the secondary spring will help also

The black secondary from what I understand actually decreases top speed by a couple of mph, but makes your belt have a less stressful life especially with bigger tires. I didn't mind sacraficing a few mph on top end for the extra belt life. I had my black secondary installed at less than 100 miles and at 1800+ miles, I've never had to adjust the belt and have had no belt issues at all. I had my belt checked a few months back and it's still in the tolerance range.

I have the EPI maroon primary and the EPI black secondary springs on my 04 Prairie 700. For my riding, it is a very good combination. I have not noticed that the black spring effected the top speed. If it did, it was not much. It will still go 65-66+ mph. It grips the belt really well and helps with belt life.
