Snuck out for another mountain fall colors ride yesterday. Snow is in the forecast so this will probably be the last one of 2022.

Took the Prairie out this time to make sure the new diff seals are not going to leak.

Still love the way the old girl feels. She's so predictable, so stable, so light and nimble. I love my new Brute, but I can't ever replace what the Prairie brings to the table

Put on 420k this past week exploring. Had a great trip, but didn't take many pics. Now it's time for some maintenance on the old girl. She's running way to rich, and the primary clutch needs to be rebuilt or replaced. Had to remove the engine brake mid trip as the outer bearing on the primary clutch decided to pack it in.

I took my engine brake fork out years ago. Haven't missed it once yet.

What would you recommend for a replacement Primary Clutch? I am definitely wanting to improve response for slow speeds and crawling over obstacles as the stock clutch definately lacks in that department. Was looking at the CVTech Trailbloc and spring kit for 1-2 inch larger tires.

Spent a few days exploring some new trails in the desert last week. Really enjoyed the old Prairie again. The front diff leak is fixed, and she runs like a champ. The Brute did well also.

Just thought to wish everyone a Merry and blessed Christmas and prosperous New Year. No Prairie pictures since they are all in for the winter. This is my new arrival, and first venture outside of Kawasaki: 1985 Yamaha YTM200ERN. Has needed various little adjustments and new parts, but had him out for what proved to be a fun test run before the deep freeze hit.

Finally got out for a ride today. It's been three months since I was in the saddle. It's been snowing every other day here since Thanksgiving which has made it unfavorable to ride, plus there's been a bunch of personal drama this winter too. Anyway, I was starting to think I was never going riding this season.
But we had a sunny day today (seriously the first one I can remember all winter), so I took the old Prairie out for a spin. I was a little nervous about my 4wd as I never had time last year to properly fix the output bevel shaft coming out of the front of the engine. I simply put a new coupler and prop shaft on it and crossed my fingers. Luckily, even at full throttle and 4wd, it never missed a beat today. Apparently, having 50% new splines is enough to keep that front end turning!😄
Next time out, I might just take the Brute instead though.😉

She was sleeping for the last 12 years with a busted motor, but she’s back in action so I put her to work. Collecting maple sap in my little sugar bush. Hauled 25 gallons out today for a 3 day total of 80 gallons. Lots more to go! Running great besides a slight lifter tap, but I don’t have time to run the valves unless the sap slows for a few days.

Got the Brute out today along with some friends. In Utah, an ATV becomes a snowmobile during winter and is allowed on groomed trails that the state maintains. We are lucky. I love riding in the winter! No mud, no dust, no bugs, and your tires last forever.

Yea I like riding in the winter to. Its nice to not sweat and no dust is a plus to. How much more do those wheels weigh over the stock ones?

Feels like about two tons!😄
I don't know, but they killed my gas mileage, and it has a hard time wheely-ing in high range now. I would guess the tires and wheels added around 50 pounds per corner.

Got out for another ride today. It was way better than watching some football game!
Only got stuck once, but it was quite the ordeal to get out!
