Question on Crossover Intake?

12940 Views 27 Replies 16 Participants Last post by  Lanos1781
Ok starting to get a game plan for the KFX, Question at what point would the new intake be come usefully, at this time I am only going to do the Air Box and Filter mods , then mod the carbs, not ready for exhaust yet, I need the wife to get used to quad some more.

oh also the spark plug mod too, don't know if changing the clutch spring is ready yet, do you need this mod also for sand slinging??

do you loose low end torque with any of these mods, asking since she is more of a cruiser than a hill shooting duner.

I am thinking of also when the pipes do get added, going with a CDI instead of the 6 key-way due to her just cruising

The crossover intakes will help you quite a bit on a stock motor, but I would do all those mods at once. (Exhaust, intakes..etc). I would change the clutch spring right away.

You have many options for a clutch spring. Maybe try the EPI Pink, Maroon, or almond.

The best exhaust to me has been the muzzy (whether pro or super pro). They make great power and sound good. With these mods you will gain torque, not lose any low end.

By the way, nice quad. I like the white plastics.
Thanks its not white, it's the carbon fiber white, need to get a beter pic of the quad soon.
Looks good tho!
Mine is carbonfiber white too, im doing the crossover intakes right now. What do u jet with a k&n dual pro circuits and clutch spring? Rough jetting for good all around? Im 18 to 19 hundred feet above sea
Looks good tho!
hey Speed, are you running 10 inch rims?
Hey we would love to see some better pictures of the carbon white quads. My wife is thinking about getting a set for her quad and we have not seen how they look on.
And what hubs are you running on the rear Speed?? i cant find anything for the v force :lame:
I am right behind you on this path. Just picked up a KFX and love it so far. Let us know what parts you decide to go with and how you like the ride!
I have done the12 hole, exhaust, boot mod, clutch spring, and jetting .... It made a big difference in my v fo sho!!! Got the boot mod from v enforcer and clutch spring from vforce john....if ur gonna do those mods get ahold of them on here an they will hook u up. I've got a lot of info since I've got on here everyone's saved me a bunch of bs. Question? If I do the crossovers will I have to rejet?
Yes from what I seen on here you need to re-jet. You need the #42 pilot jet for sure. I think you would have to go richer if doing the crossover intake. Ive got the 158-162 jets and 12 holes in my airbox and I think I've just about hit the spot. I'm 1900 ft above sea level as well

The Honda hubs off of the Ex's will pretty much fit, just need a different axle nut...or thin the stock one out. So any aftermarket Honda hubs will also work. Or you can go with G force hubs if you want to go with a wider stance without going with an aftermarket axle
My wife's race cut CF white.

Thanks for the info! I will start looking :)
I have seen this front bumper on a few different bikes:

Is it custom or is it available to purchase from somewhere? BTW, both quads pictured are super sick!
