Recently bought a 2008 Brute Force 750. The rear brake assembly is locked at the differential. The return spring is shot and needs replacement, but there is no play in the lever. Would changing the brake/diff fluid fix this, or do i need to tear apart the differential?

& resign yourself to replacing the rear brake cables every 3-4 years, maybe more often if you do a lot of mudding or bogging. The cables, especially the longer one up to the bars, get full of crud, & freeze in areas of low temps, & seize which can wear out the rear brake. One thing Kawi should have done in their redesign was make the excellent rear brake w/hydraulic lines.

Thanks for the help. I was able to knock it back out by tapping the lever with a hammer which loosened it up. seems to work fine for now, but ill keep an eye on the cables. I live in Texas, so freezing shouldnt be an issue but i plan on mudding a lot so my guess is theyll have to be replaced sooner or later.
