RPM Limiter / Top-Speed?

Question.....had a chance to run the beast this weekend on the local lake and the limiter kicked in {ignition interruption} at 71-72 on the speedo. Seem accurate? OH....'09 750. :)

Redlined,is the bike stock? I have never hit the limiter (atleast, I think not) even with bolt ons. How would you describe hitting the limiter? Does it surge or backfire?

It is a clear and distinct ignition interupption. No surge or backfire, just a ignition miss....just at that speed 71-72 on the speedo, back off ONE mph, and it is as smooth as silk. Yes....bone stock except a mudder lid, with the stock intake closed.....OH...I might add that with the mudder lid, you can easily hear it through the intake honk!

Honestly did not check. My son and I were having a great time out on the lake........
