Sansa Clip device

Just got into the new age of music listening (or at least for me anyway) Got the sansa clip that holds up to 4000 songs. It seems it's only compatible with Rhapsody so I joined to download songs for a monthly charge of $14.99

Anyway I ripped all the cd's I own which ain't many and it left me with the room to fit approximately 3700 more songs.

I had no issues ripping music but for some reason I can listen but not transfer music to the device. Yes, I know there are 2 sites as I learned the hard way. But, do belong to the "to go" site which is for downloading but it's not (or I just don't understand) putting the music on the device. I called them asked, and they say it should work and won't refund and cancel my account.

So If anyone has this and can give me tips/clues as to what to check to get this to work it would be much appreciated. I have Vista, and even the tech guy said it "should be fine" but I just can't get it to, or find a way to get it to media player if I even need to do that.

New fancy a$$ music crap device with it's new way to listen to MY music is got me frustrated and kicking my old a$$........Please help if you can

Ed I'm sure that's the same player a friend of mine has recently bought, I should see her today so I'll let her read your post to see if she can help.
my sansa uses windows media, or you can drag and drop... i can tell you that sansa's customer support is great... also you can look on sansa's website they have great forums...
Ed I've spoken to my friend and she said she simply drags and drops just as you would if you were putting something on a memory stick etc.
Thanks guys but that's my issue, as there's no screen to drag an drop or access media player when I do my music search. It only allows me to listen.

What could it be that I'm missing here? Is something in my controls not allowing it, and what could it be?

Mind you I ain't savy, and I ain't in the computer generation. I belong to 2 forums and use hotmail, that's it! My ignorance I think is whats preventing me.

When I called "tech support" they used words I had no understanding of or recognized. Nothing on the screen supported what they were trying to explain.
Ed you have no understanding :lol:

To be honest mate I've never used one but from what I think I know what you're trying to say, try the following, I'll try and keep it as simple as I can explain.

First of all open a window with your music in semi shrink it so its visible but not full screen, plug in your mp3 into your usb, once plugged in a small window should open if its been recognized it should then give you some options of what you want to do, I'm guessing from what you're saying this isn't happening, no problem, instead just go to my computer, there you will see the different drives that are available, EG. c/ drive d/ drive etc I'm guessing the mp3 might show up as f/drive double click to open it, once open semi shrink as you did with your music folder, put the windows side by side then select what music you wish to transfer hold your left mouse or keypad button and drag the file and drop it onto the other window which is your mp3.

Like I said I haven't used one but I'm pretty sure the above should work if you understand my logic :D

Good luck!

Well it all works except the "drag and drop"

When it drags it shows a circle with a line through it, and when placed to make the list to rip, burn, or download it's not there. It won't allow it to happen. Something seems to be blocking it.

Anyway thanks for your time.

Maybe "the boy" when he stops over to do his laundry twice each week will take the time to show his mother. I bought her a device also and it's a lot to ask of him I know. But, maybe while she fixing him a meal he'll look into it. :bash:
Hey Ed i have the same mp3 i got out of rapsody and went to limewire it is free...also i used media player on my desktop just sych it to your computer and drag and drop or from limewire you can put it to your desktop as well hope it helps.:D
I just attempted to join for free!

I don't see that happening, not for free anyway. The fine print says $34.88 as you have to agree to buy stuff at set prices for a year, and they need you credit card number to complete becoming a member.

I joined Rhapsody 9 times at $12.99, and then the "to go" 4 times at $14.99 before on the phone we straightened it out. It was supposed to be free to me for buying this device at Best Buy. Apparently they have fine print as well.

I just bought a card that contains 1000 Rock songs for Slot Radio. It costs as much as the device but at least for now I have something to listen to while gouging, and bevel grinding steel besides the noise that makes.
Hey Andy and others.

I got it all working an just spend 4hrs downloading music from the Rhapsody site. It seems I was missing a disk called a installation CD.

Out of all this time/mess talking to tech people it seems no one asked about the disk. Of coarse when a co-worker asked that was the first thing she did. Well seeing I did not have one she loaned me hers and all is working excellent. Go figure!

With it it's totally easy to follow and understand, and oddly enough I now know what they and you where trying to explain.
Don't feel bad ,I was computer retarded for the longest time.Since I got laid off and have nothing else to do while looking for work ,I spent alot of time and fustration teaching myself .Most of the time when you ask for help they talk to you like you know what you are doing .If that was the case ,you wouldn't need help.
