I ride a 2005 solid rear axle. To me it was the pinicle of atvs. LOL Anyway I enjoy it. It has enough power that mashing the throttle gives you the oh crap, hold on feelings. Ride is comfy, easy to handle. Solid, low center of gravity.
The only real complaint I have is steep hill climbs. It wants to pull the front end if you are not super lite on the throttle.
They are old, you can find parts, some are not cheap. I need to rebuild the front diff as it seems to be locked all the time. But otherwise it has been an amazing machine.
I rode a 300 bayou before I bought this and it is certainly a huge upgrade.
Not sure how much riding you do, but 2 hours on the trail with the 300 and you are beat up and worn out. While on the 650 you are ready for 2 hours more at least.
They are carburetors and I told myself I will not by another that is not EFI, while carbs don't bother me, my kids will never be able to work on them or even start them half the time.
But that is me. I also have a grizzly 700 efi with power steering and to my kids that is the greatest thing ever. Idependant suspension, sights higher, Front diff controls are better. But still I prefer the older kawasaki.
