Hello,

I have a 03 KVF 650 and the belt keeps sliping after running it hard for about five minutes. I replaced the belt and first time out after about an hour of trail riding and hit a dirt road it started sliping again. now as soon as you hit any trail where you can open it up it will slip every time. does anyone have any ideas on what can be causing this? please advise.

Sounds to me like your clutch sheaves are glazed. I would email vforcejohn and have him
Mod it so it doesn't happen again. Well worth the money

Did you set the belt deflection after putting on the new belt?
The clutches are 7 years old; have they ever been rebuilt? If they haven't, I would expect they are worn badly.

the belt deflection would be a good place to start and also im sure the sheaves need deglazed. my quad only has 500 miles on it and when i got my clutch back from VFJ, i was able to remove the thin shim from the secondary. so im sure yours could use it. although novakaw could very well be correct it may just be worn out.
