My '01 Mojave starts like it should on flat ground. When on any grade, though, the kick starter will not even budge. The engine will start when rolled down the hill, but the kick portion will not move until it is on completely flat ground.
When riding at an angle to the hill on trails, I have had to dig up dirt, lift the quad, and pile enough dirt under it to make it level. Occasionally it will crank, but I really have to put all my weight onto it, but that is not often.
The only thing that comes to mind is that it started doing this when hauling branches to a burn pile, but I am not sure how that would affect it. I haven't looked into it real deeply, I haven't torn the engine apart, but if I have to, that is fine. Any ideas?
