hello need some help and opinions on what i should i have 2007 prairie 360 4x4 i stripped the oil plug hole on the case! should i use heli coil or larger self tapping oil plug? either way im probably going to by the tool that will suck out the oil from the dipstick hole so i wont have to worry about stripping it anymore!
Does anyone know what size the stock oil plug is? thanks for the help

take out the plug, drain the oil

the hole should be 12 or 14mm.

FOr example, if it's a 12x1.5 thread plug, drill it and retap it 14x1.5 use grease on the drill and tap and it'll catch the small filings. insert new bolt and you have no issues.

drill and tap may cost you 10 bucks

flush it with a few quarts of diesel with the plug out and it should flush any filings that may have went into the case.

well you do realize helicoil involves drilling and tapping to install the new helicoil fitting? So why don't you just skip the "insert helicoil " step and insert a new larger drain plug????

self tapping drain plug will just strip and gall the hole larger.

do it right. it takes literally 3 minuites to fix it

Heli coil or you'll have the same problem again.
