Tap / Tick noise after hi -speed run?

Made a top-end run this past weekend, 70 MPH +/-, and after the run, coasted to a stop, was sitting talking with my son and immediately heard an audible "tap" coming from the motor. Oil level at the top of the range, clean, and looks new. Blipped the throttle and it was synchronous with RPM. After about 5-10 seconds it went away. Almost sounds like oil deprivation to the top end? CVT? Anyone experience this? Ran fine the rest of the day, motor sounds tight as a drum....very mechanically quiet. :confused:
