hey guys i have had problems with my bf 750 over heating and it always bothered me not being able to tell where its running temp whise, well i am wanting to put a temp gauge on the bike but im not sure where the actual temp sensor goes to tell me the temp of the bike, i know you can put sensors on the exaust pipe to know your exaust temp but i dont want to know that i want to know how hot my colant/motor which ever one i need to know is.

Gaffrig makes a really nice waterproof marine temp gauge (little pricey) that you can mount quite nicely right in front of your shifter lever. As for the actual sensor, you can drill and tap the thermostat housing for a perfect fit. All relatively easy if you take your time. No hoses to cut, looks and works great. Good luck.

where exactly is the thermostat housing?

Remove the front rack, front plastic and the right side cover, you'll be able to see it then.
