Vin search

Is there any way I can do a free vin search for an ATV? I'm looking at buying a frame that I want a title for but don't want to try to register it and it comes up stolen or has a lien on it.

google it . i would think there would be a way . check with the local title office to see what u can do .
Quit looking, it's a waste of time. 1 out of every 10 T-4's has a readable vin.
you can go the Kawasaki website and have the VIN transfered to you, it's what I did. You'd basically be saying that you are now the new owner, you print out a transfer of ownership form, send it in to Kawi with a bill of sale and they will send you a 'Transfer of Ownership" document.

In the end it really doesnt matter as the Bill of Sale is your proof of ownership and no ones looking for a 20 year quad.
If mine was stolen I would be lookin for it.

This actually worked? Cause I have all the legal documentation to register it, but it'd be pretty rad if I can get another form of ownership, especially one as an official kawasaki ownership document.

Yep, glad to scan what they sent me as proof - it took them about 3 weeks to send me an ownership letter.

Guess that came out wrong, meant to say that it's less likely that anything stolen 20 years ago is actively being searched for.
So I call the Kawasaki line - thank for that info and found out my frame based on the vin was reported missing from kawasaki and was supposed to be destroyed as it was a research and prototype.
