What does this carb vent do? pics inside. SRA650

Wondering what this carb vent does. It is attached to a t style fitting with each end in opposite carbs. It then connects to the airbox. I noticed it wasnt connected correctly the last time i removed my airbox. I have been having some 1/2 throttle bog/cut out issues and was wondering if this might be my problem. I would reall like to find a way to run this vent directly to the pod and not through the airbox.

It's the air vent to the top of the fuel bowls.

if it was not getting air (restricted) how do you think it would affect how it was running?

If it was completely blocked off, it would have a definate effect on the carb function.
