Thanks for the reply,Sounds like the one-way sprag is coming apart causing it not to release from the starter fast enough. Happens..they aren't forever. If so the next phase will be that the starter will spin...but the engine won't. What year and model is it?
Has nothing to do with the clutch. On yours the starter has a solenoid and bendix like a car so just replace the starter and you should be good to go. Anyone can do that. Better do it before it hurts the ring gear on the flywheel.Thanks for the reply,
It is a 2015 Pro Fx with unknown hours/miles (meter was replaced prior to purchase)
I previously pulled the clutch cover and inspected the belt (all was in good visual condition).
