Would a 6mm stroker crank work good for a long rod 330 kit for motocross? Would it be reliable? Also saw were a Rad Valve wouldn't flow enough or something, Ive got one on the way now after i get the engine build could i machine off the reed cage and run it with a V Force reed block?

Hey sircrash,

Yeah you could do that with rad valve and v-forces, as long as you don't have too much taken off (and thatd be somewhat a waste of money, as far as buying the rad valve goes) I'd suggest a good sized reed spacer as well.

Yes 330 kits make alot of power, a Sprock racing head would also be a very wise investment... Get in contact with Corey Sprock (a.k.a Magoo on KR) or David Roberts, their the guys to talk to.

Also Sircrash, check your PM's

The strokers work very well for MX.
If you want a different intake boot to run on a v-force reed there are a couple of better options than cutting the Boyesen block. Pro-Design has a billet one that matches up to the bridges in the v-force reed and there is an open aluminum intake boot that uses the same style rubber boot as the Boyesen. Basically it looks like the Boyesen would after you cut it.
The Boyesen complete reed is a good reed set-up for a 250 in the woods or MX but it's too small for a 330.

How much am i looking at to get the cases machined for the stroker crank. Spacer plate and ported for a 330 long rod and the 6mm crank? Is there an off the shelf Wiseco piston that will work? And will it still rev out on the top end? Any idea of horse power it will make on race gas. I still haven't found a book to see if i can put it back together or need it done. Ive did a few 125 and 250 bikes, not sure how different a quad is.
